Lough Derg Penal Cross (2″)

This cross is modelled on the small wooden crosses fashioned around Lough Derg for sale to pilgrims during Penal times, when the Catholic faith was outlawed. Its narrow shape enabled the cross to be easily concealed. The crosses often had the year of pilgrimage engraved on the back.

The cross is supplied in a cellophane covering attached to a printed backing card.
